Suits
Individuals and organisations already working inside GitHub: code completion, chat and agents in the repo, with central policy and seat management.
Limits and caveats
The free Copilot Free plan is only available to individual developers without organisation or enterprise access, and it is limited (the docs give 2,000 completions per month as an example). Copilot is not currently available for GitHub Enterprise Server. The official pages read here do not publish a per-operating-system support matrix, so this record leaves the runtime platforms unfilled.

“Suits” and “Limits and caveats” are the desk’s assessment of the sources listed here, not a hands-on test.
